Free, until it costs us money.

Almost all of JoyRemote is free, permanently. We charge for one thing: reaching a computer over the internet, which is the part that runs on a server we pay for.

$5 once, per computer, not a subscription
  • First 100 hours over the internet are free
  • After that, $5 settles it for that computer permanently
  • Includes 5 hours of relay time
  • No renewal, no recurring charge, no card kept by us
$5 5 more hours of relay, if you need it
  • Only for connections your network will not allow directly
  • First 5 minutes of relay are free
  • Available after the one payment above
  • Most people never need this

What happens if you do not pay

Nothing is switched off. No feature disappears, no session is refused, and your own network is untouched. Starting a session to a computer over the internet simply waits a few seconds first, and that wait grows slightly each time, up to a maximum of five minutes. That is the whole of it.

What the relay is

Usually the two computers talk to each other directly and nothing passes through us. Some networks — hotels, offices, some mobile connections — will not allow that, and then we carry the picture between them. That costs us real bandwidth, which is why it is the one thing metered by the clock rather than bought outright.

Why per computer

The charge settles one computer, because a computer is what the cost attaches to. Reinstalling JoyRemote on a computer you have already paid for does not ask you to pay again.

Prices in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where your country requires it. See the refund and cancellation policy and the licence agreement.
